• An Earthquake of 7.0 magnitude hit Haiti on January 12, 2012
• The epicenter was 25 km west of Port-au-Prince, Haiti’s Capital
• Around 3 million people were affected by the earthquake
• At least 52 aftershocks were measured 4.5 or greater
• It has been reported that 316 000 people had died
• 300 000 injured
• 1,000,000 became homeless due to the destruction
• 4000 schools were destroyed or severely damaged
• World Bank provide $100 million in extra funding
• UNICEF made an urgent appeal to get help to the injured
